When Ntombi began her career as an executive assistant in the Office of the Presidency, she never imagined her time at SANTACO’s head office would extend to serving four presidents: Arthur Jabulani Mthembu, Philip Taaibosch, July Misiza, and the current president, Abner Tsebe.
She started at SANTACO in 2010 as a personal assistant to both President Mthembu and Taaibosch, who was then Secretary General. Demonstrating hard work and reliability, Ntombi rose to executive assistant—a pivotal role in the taxi industry, working closely with the president at the heart of the organization.
Recently, Ntombi graduated from the Ses’fikile Toyota Office Management Programme, earning recognition in the industry as one of its most experienced women, having witnessed several presidents come and go.
Before entering the taxi industry, Ntombi worked at J Walter Thompson Advertising Agency in Johannesburg.
“I am a workaholic—focused, target-driven, and diligent in my work,” she says.
Her administrative expertise has shaped the taxi industry, serving as an example of focus, perseverance, and loyalty.
Ntombi expresses gratitude to President Tsebe for investing in staff development, supporting, and encouraging participation in the Toyota Ses’fikile programme offered in partnership with the University of Pretoria.
Ntombi was one of the 1,469 graduates in the Class of 2025 from the Toyota Ses’fikile programme last year, marking the conclusion of the programme.
